Description

Zavicefta is the Pfizer brand of ceftazidime/avibactam, a fixed-dose antibacterial combining the third-generation cephalosporin ceftazidime 2g with the non-beta-lactam beta-lactamase inhibitor avibactam 0.5g per vial. Supplied as a sterile powder for concentrate for solution for infusion. Zavicefta is formulated for intravenous administration after reconstitution The combination is licensed for the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections including pyelonephritis, hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia, and infections due to aerobic Gram-negative organisms.
