Terms & Conditions

• You must be at least 18 years old to use our website or place an order.
• You are responsible for keeping your account details and password confidential and for activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when registering and at checkout.
• You may not use our website for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose.

• We aim to describe and picture our products accurately, but we do not warrant that all descriptions, images or other content are completely accurate, current or error-free.
• All prices are shown in Sri Lankan Rupees (Rs) and are inclusive of applicable taxes. Delivery fees are shown separately at checkout.
• Prices, promotions and discounts are subject to change without notice and may be subject to additional terms or time limits.
• Stock is shared with our physical store. We confirm availability before dispatch, and will contact you if an item is unavailable.

• Our online store sells over-the-counter and general healthcare products only — items you can buy without a prescription. Prescription and pharmacy-only medicines are not sold through the online store, and you will not find them in the online catalogue.
• Medicines that require a prescription are ordered through our Order Online service. You upload your prescription, our pharmacist reviews it, and we then send you a quote covering the items, the delivery charge and how to pay. Nothing is charged before you accept that quote.
• A prescription must be valid, legible and issued to the named patient. We may decline or cancel any order at our discretion — including where a prescription is unclear, expired, or cannot be verified — and where you have not paid, no charge applies.
• Product information on our website is provided for general reference only and is not medical advice. It is not a substitute for the guidance of a qualified doctor or pharmacist. Always read the label and any patient information leaflet, and follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• By placing an order you are making an offer to purchase. We may refuse or cancel any order — for reasons including unavailability, pricing or product errors, a prescription we cannot verify, or suspected fraud.
• Orders for delivery are paid by bank transfer. Transfer the order total to our bank account and upload your deposit slip or screenshot on the order page. Your order is dispatched only after we have received and verified that payment — there is no minimum or maximum order value attached to this.
• Orders you collect from our Dehiwala outlet may be paid at the counter, by cash or card, when you collect them — there is no minimum or maximum. You may also pay by bank transfer in advance if you prefer. Nothing is charged when you place a collection order.
• You do not have to pay straight away. Your order page stays open, and if you place the order while signed in (or sign in afterwards with the same email address) you can return at any time and upload your slip from My account › Your orders.
• We do not offer cash on delivery. We dispense medicines and other health products, which we cannot accept back and resell once they have left our care and our storage conditions — so we do not send an order out for delivery before it is paid for. Collection orders are unaffected: the goods stay in the pharmacy until you pay for them. See our FAQ for the full reasoning.
• We do not accept card payments online, and we never collect or store card details on our systems. Card payment is available only at the terminal in our physical outlet.
• For Order Online orders, payment is taken only after our pharmacist has reviewed your order and sent you a quote — nothing is charged before you accept it. A quote stays open for 7 days; if it is not taken up within that time it expires and the order is closed. You are welcome to submit a new order at any time.
• Unpaid bank-transfer orders. If you choose bank transfer and we have not received your payment, we send you a reminder and then a final notice by email. If payment has still not reached us 7 days after the request, the order is automatically cancelled and we let you know by email. No charge applies, and you can reorder whenever you're ready.

• We deliver within Sri Lanka only. Collection from our Dehiwala store is free and always available, wherever you live — there is no area limit on pickup.
• Online store (over-the-counter products) — island-wide, three tiers. Rs 399 for Colombo & suburbs (Colombo 1–15, Nawala, Rajagiriya, Battaramulla, Malabe, Nugegoda, Maharagama, Kottawa, Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala), Rs 499 for the rest of the Western Province (Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts) and Rs 599 for the rest of Sri Lanka. There is no free-delivery threshold.
• Order Online (prescription orders) — Western Province only, two tiers. Rs 399 to Colombo 1–15 and to Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Nugegoda, Rajagiriya, Nawala, Battaramulla, Malabe, Maharagama and Kottawa; Rs 499 everywhere else in the Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts. We do not deliver prescription orders outside the Western Province — you are very welcome to collect them free of charge from our Dehiwala store instead.
• Prescription delivery charges are indicative. The rates above are our standard tiers and are shown for transparency. The final delivery charge for an Order Online order is set by our pharmacist and confirmed to you with your quote — nothing is added to your order before then.
• Some items are collection-only. Medicines that must be kept refrigerated (cold-chain items) and controlled medicines cannot be sent out for delivery. If your order includes one, our pharmacist will contact you and arrange collection from our Dehiwala store; anything else in the same order can still be delivered. Our pharmacist reviews each order individually.
• Orders are typically dispatched within 2–7 working days. Delivery times are estimates and may vary by location and other factors.
• Order tracking: deliveries within Colombo & suburbs are made by our own local riders — you receive order-status updates (packing, dispatched, delivered) on your order page rather than live courier tracking. Deliveries to the rest of the Western Province and island-wide are sent by courier with a tracking number you can follow online.
• Large, bulky or bulk orders, and wholesale orders, may have delivery charged separately based on the weight and size of the package; we will confirm any such charge with you before dispatch.
• We may contact you by phone or WhatsApp to confirm your order before dispatch.

Returns, refunds and cancellations are governed by our Returns & Refund Policy, available on our website. In summary, all sales are final except for items that arrive damaged, defective, incorrect or expired, which must be reported within 3 days of delivery.

All content on our website — including text, images, logos and graphics — is the property of Lanka Chemist or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, distribute or modify any content without our prior written consent.

You agree not to misuse our website, interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorised access, or use it to transmit unlawful or harmful content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lanka Chemist and its owners, employees and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of your use of our website or products. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Our products are provided without warranties beyond those implied by law and the manufacturer's own warranties.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo.

We may modify or update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Please review them periodically.
