Returns & Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping with Lanka Chemist. As a registered pharmacy, the health and safety of our customers is our highest priority. Because we sell medicines, healthcare and personal-care products, this policy is necessarily stricter than that of a general retailer. Please read it carefully before placing an order.
No Change-of-Mind Returns
For reasons of safety, hygiene and regulatory compliance, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds for change of mind, incorrect ordering, or no-longer-needed items — this applies to all products, including medicines, supplements, personal-care items, mother & baby products, beauty products and healthcare devices. Once a product has left our pharmacy, it cannot be returned to saleable stock.
When We Will Help
We stand fully behind the condition of what we send you. Please contact us within 3 days of delivery if your order arrives:
- Damaged in transit;
- Defective or not working as intended;
- Incorrect (you received a different item from what you ordered); or
- Expired or short-dated on arrival.
To report an issue, contact us within the 3-day window with your order number and clear photographs of the product, its packaging and (where relevant) the batch/expiry details. Reports made after 3 days, or without supporting photos, cannot be accepted.
Once we verify the issue, we will, at our discretion and subject to stock availability, either replace the item or issue a refund.
Refunds
Where a refund is approved:
- Card payments are refunded to your original card through our payment gateway (PayHere).
- Cash on Delivery, bank transfer and mobile-wallet payments are refunded by bank transfer to an account you provide.
- Refunds are processed within 7–14 working days of approval. The time for funds to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider.
- Refunds may be subject to deduction of any bank commissions, transaction charges or surcharges incurred.
- Unless the issue was caused by an error on our part, refunds exclude the original delivery fee.
Order Cancellation
You may cancel an order for a full refund only up until the moment it is dispatched. Once an order has been dispatched it can no longer be cancelled and is subject to the terms above. Cancellation refunds may be subject to deduction of any bank commissions or surcharges incurred.
Return Shipping
Where a return is required, return courier/postage costs are borne by the customer, unless we specify otherwise (for example, where the return is due to a proven error on our part).
Prescription Medicines
Orders containing prescription medicines are subject to verification of a valid prescription by our pharmacist and may be declined. No payment is taken for prescription items until the prescription has been approved. If a prescription order is declined, no charge applies.
